Evaluation For Trailer

Feedback

During this morning lesson we had our own trailers screened in front of an audience. This is what the audience said about it: Most of the audience said that most of the filters used were random and not needed. They also said that one of the scenes was very long and made the whole trailer seem boring. From a lecturers POV he says that we revealed too much of the villain. He said, ‘Every time we showed the villain he got less and less scary’. People also talked about a part of the trailer was more of a comedy than a horror part. It was when Jordan said the words ‘I miss you dad’. That was seen more of a comedy moment than horror.

What did we do well?

Overall, I think that the best thing we did was the filming and editing of the whole film. Everyone edit was different in many ways. This made each one of us very diverse and special. We got some very good shots when using the car. We used the mirrors on the car to our advantage, adding an effect on the audience. In the edit I think that I did well with getting all the shots and making a story of them.

What could you improve

Straight away I feel like we could have improved on our pitch to Lee. We were unprepared, and no one was ready with their pre-production which they had been assigned to. I also think that we could have picked a better trailer to been screened to the audience as I don’t think that the trailer that we screened was the best in which was made from our group. I also feel that during the pre-production time we could of work more as a group and communicated more.

To conclude, I feel like we worked well as team apart from the pitch and pre-production where we struggled. If I was to redo the whole project I work more on the pitch and pre-production. However, I think during the filming and editing this was our strongest point. We worked well as a team and got the trailer done in time.
