Job Role Research

The job role in which I will be researching is the studio producer. In this research I will be looking at what the roles in which the producer does and how that person impacts the production.

From what I have found so far is that a tv producer is responsible for looking after a whole/part of a production. The part of production in which I will be looking at is the studio side of it.

The things in which studio producer are responsible for are:

  • Controlling the whole aspect of the production and crew behind it
  • Create a environment in which the crew and on screen talent can ‘flourish’ from
  • Confidence in what they’re doing
  • Strong communication with people
  • A strong head figures
  • Cope under pressure

The producer is a key person though the ‘four stages of the production’. During the pre-production stage, the producer brings all of the key people together to plan everything together and help thought the main parts. During this stage they will read over creative items like the script, running order, shooting schedule/ Production Schedule.

During the production. A producer is responsible with the day to day running of the set and crew. The producer is in constant communication with the crew and more importantly the director and main production team.

How will I use this information

I will use this information by bringing all of the crew and main group together. I will also    work with the all of the team to get every part of the pre-production done. I will also request to them for me to review their work before they upload or present towards the rest of the group.

During the production I will communicate to the whole crew by printing off all work that will help the crew understand what is happening.
